Summer Vacation

Paul thinks summer vacation is about getting dirty!
Anthony thinks summer vacation is about working a lot with undergraduate research students and convincing me that we can fit three kids in our back seat.
Hayley thinks summer vacation is about working hard with my mom and Keith at beautiful Blue Heron Farm.
Grandma Bev thinks summer vacation is about sharing the fruits of their labor.
Liam thinks, "If summer vacation means that my mom is bringing me a strawberry, then mmmmmm." Paul and I think summer vacation is about spending quality time with friends like Carly and Liam.Anthony thinks summer vacation is also about building a beautiful waterfall displaying his creative side.
I also think summer vacation is about enjoying our yardand finishing up several different Bible studies. (Here is our Thursday morning non-denominational women's one, but missing Holly, Karen, Barbara and Lois.) Micah's answers to what he is most thankful about summer vacation melt my heart. At first, when I explained that summer vacation was coming, he was thrilled because it would be time for Vacation Bible School! (He is still waiting eagerly.) Now that summer vacation has begun, his answer has been "I like spending more time with Paul."

As only a four-year-old who was most excited for more school (albeit VBS) when school ended can do, Micah has been trying really hard to teach himself to read so he can read to Paul. I didn't have to tell him a single word in this library book.

Comment suggestion: What is summer vacation to YOU? :)
