Of course the boys spend lots of time playing at home (my official job title is, after all, stay-at-home mom), but we occasionally get to go have fun elsewhere.
I've realized that I often overlook taking pictures of my friends. Kara is a great, treasured one!In our group of friends, it is not often that one of our boys gets to spend time with girls, but Sam took this opportunity! You can catch a glimpse of my precious, outstanding friend Melody, too.
Since Jack and Grant are moving, this swing will get to occupy a new tree soon.
I love the occurrence this picture captures: Micah occasionally chose to spend Sunday afternoon naptime putting the Psalms to music on his violin. Who needs a full orchestra when you have such sweet worship?Only outrageous parents like us take our kid scootering before he can even walk,
but Samuel is happiest overcoming obstacles alongside of his big brothers!
Paul, Samuel and I had a few outdoor odysseys at the arboretum last fall.Sam is observing an optimal autumnal overlook with his old man.
Ooooo. A far from ordinary moment in the midst of an ordinary day.It is official that the little one can orbit a room on foot.
Micah has been snatching any opportunity to operate the sewing machine. We have made a "give thanks" banner, a cowboy doll (named Dude), bean bags, Christmas wrapping bags, aprons, and today we made storage pockets for his Legos. Our boys reconnected with Brandi so quickly when she came for a visit. Her outgoing personality even got Sam to sit for a story! Thankfully, he now thinks reading a book with mom is an optimal option.
Sam is often obliged to wear odd outerwear to escort his brothers to and from school.
Aurora and Paul aren't really observing the future Olympians on the soccer field, but Saturday morning soccer games have been surprisingly fun for me. It isn't too much of an ordeal and I get to hang out with my friends while watching Micah get a lot better at soccer!
Doesn't our toddler ooze sweetness? This picture also overlaps with our home improvement updates; we got a new refrigerator to try and keep five omnivores fed organically (at least somewhat.)
Observe the open-enrollment table for the original club Micah organized. They were able to recruit one neighbor and her dog to opt in. No, their club isn't offering oxygen to oppressed orphans or studying ontology or the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent nature of God. Oh well.
Look at the ornate, orange pumpkins next door!
Paul is demonstrating how our foyer is often occupied now that we own an ornate pellet stove. It is optimal; burning a waste product (saw dust) to offer coziness. October wasn't only about outings.
