Chicharito

 Samuel's sweet friend (aka amiguita) Rebeka had a bonita birthday party.

I think they sang at least 4 of the verses of Las Mañitas (the birthday song) to Rebeka.

At the Regional Park, Micah was trying to convince his littlest brother (aka hermanito) to get off the swing so that we could go see the lions.

Two days ago (Saturday morning) the boys had an awesome Olympiad with their school. Samuel was asked to be "Chicharito." Chicharito is the nickname of a Mexican soccer player who plays for Manchester United, but Chicharo means sweet pea and adding "ito" (or "ita" if feminine) onto the end of a word makes it diminuitive, indicating smallness or affection.

Samuelito still can't stand to have attention on him, but our Chicharito gradually warmed up to cheering for the Manchester team while everyone else (including teachers and parents) warmed up by dancing like the kids do in physical education class.

Some of Samuel's school friends (amiguitas) were dressed up as princesses for other British-themed teams. Yes, that is Anthony's arm dancing with all of the parents.

Due to some name confusion, Micah and Paul's middle names were on their name tags. So of course they called each other Brianito and Williamito. Thankfully, those two continue to be amazingly flexible. 

They had fun working together with their team to accomplish various goals. Que bonito.

Chicharito feels right at home on the soccer field, even when playing Siamese Futbol.

Paul and his amiguita Ana-Sofia had permanent smiles on their faces while rolling together to the goal

and their smiles turned to pride when team Manchester got their medals for enthusiam. I think Pablito is preparing his smile for hiding his two loose teeth, unlike adorable Ana-Sofia.

Each team received a medal for which character quality they demonstrated at the Olympiad. This is the third award Micah has received at his new school. He received the "Deferencia" award for his class, for demonstrating the principle of September. Plus, he did so well on his exams (all 10s) that he is tied for 1st place in his class! I think it is safe to say that he is learning Spanish and all of its "itos" quickly.

I'm so glad that these boys are making amiguitos quickly and learning awesome lessons about principles and character.

It is time for the Colima fair, which is bigger than the Great Stoneboro Fair, the Wayne County Fair and the Rockingham County Fair all combined. There is nothing ito about La Feria de Todos Los Santos! We took Carmen (our tutor), Darla and D'Anna last Saturday.

It will last for three weeks, but the fair was so big and so fun and so yummy that I have already taken the boys back, with the Ergo to carry my bonito, chicito, gordito güerito. (My cute, little, chubby blonde.) At least that's what all of the women who walk past him say while they ooh and ahh.

These three pictures should show you that Samuel had a perma-smile while driving bumper carritos with his brothers. I don't know if I have ever seen him smile that big in the last 3 years.

Anthony's new head-massager was a big hit while Samuel waited to eat sopitas.

Paul continues to love animalitos and big animals, too. He thinks that he will have just enough time to have a farm while being a police-officer and a fire-fighter when he grows up. What a big heart Pablito has!
