Puerto Vallarta Vacation

México de la familia Miller (The Miller's Mexico) is a fun place to vacation!

Several people in Puerto Vallarta asked us to tell people back home how nice it is to vacation in  México. Honestly, it is easy to tell you how wonderful it is here! In Puerto Vallarta there are fancy resorts

and the nice, reasonably priced one where we stayed.

There are quirky sculptures along an enjoyable malecón (boardwalk),

a beautiful cathedral, and the potential to rent a riding toy for your son.

Along the malecón, there are also amazing sand sculptures and Danza de los Voladores (Dance of the Flyers) which includes men dancing, playing the flute, and spinning down from a 30 meter high pole with ropes. Please forgive my English communication abilities, which are declining even more rapidly than my Spanish abilities are improving. Thanks for your patience. 

There is a restaurant with the motto, "Don't drink the water. Drink the margaritas." where Micah fell in love with Mexican food, especially guacamole.

We enjoyed Puerto Vallarta's nice beaches and many pools,

and the chance to swim with dolphins. We don't have any pictures of us swimming with a dolphin, but it was so cool! Playing with a dolphin was the highlight of the vacation for all five of us. Noah and Ben -- can you can find your toy shark enjoying your México beach with us?

I am still proud of our family for being able to move ourselves for one year in one bell-hop cart. Yes, this is all of it. No, we didn't ship anything else. Yes, the boys are still thrilled to just have their Legos.

As much as we enjoyed the touristy side of  México for a few days, all of us (especially Micah) prefer "real  México," as we called Colima for the first little bit before it became "home."  This week, Micah learned the names of the 10 municipios of the state of Colima. Can anyone else out there locate Coquimatlán, Cuahtémoc or Ixtlahuacán on the map? Manzanillo is the town behind the map. We went there today to get our visas, but that is a story for another day.
